While this blog is new, I have personally been in the e-commerce business since 1996. I have been a successful website designer since 1997, when I built and sold one of the largest, at that time, local directory sites in the state. I have personally designed, built, and consulted on hundreds of websites. As a consultant, I have helped many business-persons develop a practical and successful web presence. I have been involved in affiliate marketing since 1999 and have loved every minute of it.

However, the one thing I wish I could do over is to find a mentor, an adviser that has been successful in the industry, right from the start. I have literally spent thousands of dollars and man-hours while learning the business. There has been a lot of trial, error, and hard knocks during my pursuit. It has not been all bad... far from it... with a hefty dose of determination and with strong perseverance, I have experienced a lot of success over the years and am certainly comfortable with where I'm at today.

Looking back on it all though, I know without a doubt that I would have made a lot less mistakes had I started out with a successful mentor that could help me avoid some of the pitfalls of e-commerce. I know that because all of the advice I have put to practice over the years, from those "in-the-know", has been a cake-walk compared to when I set out to do something on my own.
